Paddleboarding, Wild Swimming & Sauna

Embrace the Outdoors

Discover paddleboarding, wild swimming and sauna experiences at Woodland Lakes.

There’s something truly special about spending time by the water — whether that means gliding across the lake on a paddleboard, enjoying a refreshing swim, or relaxing in the warmth of our lakeside sauna. Woodland Lakes offers a unique outdoor experience where adults, families and groups can enjoy the benefits of open water and nature in a safe and welcoming environment.

Set within the beautiful surroundings of Woodland Lakes, our paddleboarding, wild swimming and sauna area provides the perfect escape from everyday life. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful morning swim, an active paddleboarding session, or simply somewhere to unwind outdoors, you’ll find plenty of space to relax and enjoy the water at your own pace.

The lake itself is generously sized, providing ample room for swimmers and paddleboard users while maintaining a calm and enjoyable atmosphere. A non-toxic lake dye gives the water its distinctive bluish tinge — this is completely safe and helps maintain the lake’s natural balance while improving water clarity.

Several entry and exit platforms are positioned around the lake to make access easy and safe for all users. Safety ring buoys are also located at intervals around the shoreline for added reassurance throughout every session.

We have also carried out a comprehensive risk assessment, outlining key safety procedures and guidance for all participants. This helps ensure that every visit to Woodland Lakes can be enjoyed confidently within a carefully managed environment.

Session Times
Paddleboarding, wild swimming and sauna sessions run daily from 8 am until 8 pm, with swimming available throughout the day.
Please note that times may vary slightly depending on weather conditions and daylight hours.

Paddleboard Hire

Paddleboards are available to hire on-site from £15 per board, making it easy for families and beginners to enjoy the lake even without their own equipment.

Visitors are also welcome to bring their own paddleboards. To ensure everyone has enough space on the water and to maintain a safe environment, sessions are limited to a maximum of 15 paddleboards on the lake at any one time.

Relax & Refuel

As part of your visit, you can also enjoy our on-site facilities. Warm up afterwards in our outdoor sauna, grab a fresh coffee or breakfast at the Woodrock Café, or enjoy a relaxed meal in the Watermill Restaurant overlooking the lakes.

Many visitors choose to combine paddleboarding or swimming with a sauna session, helping to create the perfect mix of activity and relaxation during their visit.
Every day at Woodland Lakes offers a slightly different experience. From calm summer mornings on the water to peaceful evenings watching the sun set across the lakes, the setting provides a memorable outdoor escape for families, couples, and groups alike.
