1. Introduction

  1. These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings and use of facilities at Woodland Lakes, including wild swimming, family swimming, paddleboarding, and sauna sessions (collectively referred to as “activities”).
  2. By making a booking, attending a session, or entering the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
  3. Please read carefully before taking part. Participation in any activity is entirely at your own risk.
  4. A defibrillator (defib) is located on-site at Woodland Lakes for emergency use.

2. Eligibility and Participation

  1. Woodland Lakes operates both adults-only sessions and family sessions.
  2. The adults-only wild swimming lake and adults-only sauna sessions are strictly for participants aged 18 and over.
  3. The family lake and family sauna sessions allow children to attend and participate when accompanied and supervised at all times by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.
  4. Children must never be left unattended anywhere on-site, including in or around the water and sauna areas.
  5. All participants must be physically fit and able to swim confidently to take part in any water-based activity.
  6. If you have a medical condition (e.g. heart, respiratory, circulation, or neurological issues), are pregnant, or under medical advice, you must consult your doctor before participating.
  7. By taking part, you confirm that you are in good health and understand the physical nature of the activities.
  8. Parents and guardians are fully responsible for supervising children attending family sessions and for deciding whether activities are suitable for them.
  9. Woodland Lakes staff may refuse participation if they believe any participant is unfit or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  10. You must follow all safety instructions, signage, and guidance provided by Woodland Lakes staff.
  11. In case of medical attention, please approach any Woodland Lakes staff member immediately. In an emergency, dial 999.

  4. No dogs, BBQs, fires, or portable stoves are permitted around the lake or in the sauna area.
  5. No amplified music, loud noise, or disruptive behaviour that could disturb others.
  6. Respect the environment, dispose of litter responsibly, and avoid damaging wildlife or surroundings.

  1. You must be a competent swimmer and confident in open water.
  2. Swimming and paddleboarding are entirely unsupervised and undertaken at your own risk.
  3. Children participating in family sessions must remain under direct adult supervision at all times.
  4. We strongly recommend using a tow float and brightly coloured swim cap for visibility.
  5. Wetsuits are recommended in cold conditions or during colder months for warmth and safety.
  6. No diving or jumping into the lake unless signage explicitly allows it.
  7. Check water and weather conditions before entering. Cold-water shock, hidden obstacles, or sudden changes in conditions can pose serious risks.
  8. Always use the designated entry and exit points.
  9. Do not enter the water under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  10. Respect other lake users’ space at all times.
  11. Paddleboard hire is subject to availability and all users must follow any safety guidance provided by Woodland Lakes staff.
  12. The online booking price for paddleboarding covers access to the lake when bringing your own paddleboard and equipment. Paddleboard hire is available separately on-site, subject to availability, and can be paid for at the venue.
  13. Sessions may have capacity limits, including limits on the number of paddleboards permitted on the lake at any one time.

5. Sauna Rules

  1. Sauna use is available only by pre-booking. Each booking is for a 1-hour session (entry and exit time included). Please ensure you have vacated the sauna by the end of your slot to allow the next guests to begin on time.
  2. Woodland Lakes operates both adult-only sauna sessions and family sauna sessions. Children may only use the family sauna when accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.
  3. Parents and guardians are fully responsible for assessing whether sauna use is suitable for the children in their care.
  4. No alcohol, drugs, or glass containers are allowed in or near the sauna.
  5. Stay hydrated — bring a bottle of water and take regular breaks.
  6. If you feel dizzy, unwell, or overheated, leave the sauna immediately and cool down slowly.
  7. Pregnant guests or those with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, or medical concerns should consult their doctor before use.
  8. Swimwear or appropriate attire must be worn at all times unless otherwise stated for private hire sessions.
  9. No shaving, oils, creams, or food are permitted inside the sauna.
  10. Please keep conversations respectful and noise levels low to maintain a relaxing atmosphere.
  11. Do not pour excessive water on the sauna stones; use the ladle and follow posted guidance.
  12. In any medical emergency, alert staff immediately — a defibrillator is available on-site; for serious emergencies, call 999.
