Some great advice for using our Sauna!
Our outdoor sauna offers a relaxing way to unwind, boost circulation, and ease tired muscles — especially after a refreshing swim. To ensure everyone enjoys the experience safely, please take a moment to read our safety and guidance notes below before your session.
1. Hydration is Essential
Always drink plenty of water before, during, and after using the sauna. Dehydration can happen quickly in high heat, so we recommend bringing a water bottle to keep beside you during your session.
2. Take Your Time
Allow your body to adjust gradually. Start with shorter sessions of around 8–10 minutes, step outside to cool down, and then return if you feel comfortable. Avoid staying in for long periods, especially if you’re new to sauna use.
3. Cool Down Between Sessions
Enjoying a dip in the lake or simply stepping outside for fresh air between sessions helps regulate body temperature and enhances the sauna’s benefits. Always listen to your body and never rush back in if you feel light-headed or overheated.
4. Avoid Alcohol and Heavy Meals
Please don’t use the sauna under the influence of alcohol or immediately after a large meal. Both can increase the risk of dizziness or nausea and reduce your body’s ability to handle heat safely.
5. Health Considerations
If you have any underlying medical conditions — such as heart issues, high or low blood pressure, or are pregnant — please seek medical advice before using the sauna. Those feeling unwell should avoid using the sauna entirely.
6. What to Bring
A clean towel to sit on is required for hygiene and comfort. We also recommend bringing an additional towel or robe for cooling-off periods. Swimwear should be worn at all times.
7. Respect Others
Our sauna is a shared space. Please keep voices low, avoid using strong fragrances, and respect the quiet, calming environment. Mobile phones and electronic devices should be kept outside the sauna to maintain relaxation for everyone.
8. After Your Session
When you’re finished, take time to rest and rehydrate. Let your body cool naturally before showering. Many guests find combining their sauna with a gentle swim enhances relaxation and wellbeing.
